However, anticipate a low point in your mental health as well. These negative feelings will come up–they do for everyone–and will stay for a while, but they can definitely be managed.
The best way to get a time out from the stress of being the new kid on the block is meeting new people. Build a supportive social network within your destination city, especially with other immigrants or students. Having their support and being reminded of how everyone goes through these blues upon arriving will do wonders for your mental health.
An unexpected yet important trip is to avoid moving during the winter. Depression occurs for many around this time, and the limited activities and cold weather might trigger your sadness. Though winters in the Oz are not as harsh as other countries, avoid arriving in a new country in the winter if you can.
